SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm afraid nevertrustdragons has come to an untimely end.
Basically, prpllbl has asked me to write for them instead and in all honesty the site design on here is lacking somewhat because I'm shit at that lark!
So change your bookmarks, restart your engines and join me over at http://prpllbl.com, I'll be copying a couple of posts over to begin with, but this stands a far greater chance of making a splash.

Thanks for the interest.

MY AMIGA

(c) Paul Gregory

In October I tried starting an indie night in Shrewsbury; just a small one with a couple of quality bands playing, but unfortunately it flopped and the financial hit was taken solely by me. Trying to run a night on my job just can't work, so it'll have to wait a while.
Anyway, one of the bands I booked was My Amiga, from the Wirral. Besides being one of the nicest group of blokes you could meet, their set got everyone in the room dancing their sweet asses off, not a word of a lie. This is feel good music for certain.
These two tracks were sent to me to promote the night, but I thought they'd appreciate a bit more promotion on here as well. Enjoy, recommend to your friends, go to their gigs, buy their songs damnit, cause these boys are well worth keeping an eye on.

HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR

Hercules & Love Affair
caught my attention back in March when they released "Blind", a classic throwback to the days of disco and to be honest, damn welcome.

From New York's DJ Andy Butler, H&PA have gained members liked Anthony Hegarty (Of Anthony & The Johnsons fame), Nomi Ruiz and Kim Ann Foxman, one stonkin' lineup by any measurement. Gaining the attention of Hotline and Frankie Knuckles didn't do them any harm either; I'll lose some friends for posting these remixes, but to be honest they've fired up my club spirits after finding them. Seriously, stick this on before going out and nothing can go wrong.

I could say so much more about H&LA, but I'd either bore you or tell you what you already knew; I'll leave you to listen.

LILLY WOOD & THE PRICK

I hereby promise that soon I'll start posting about UK bands, but for now, let this one slide?

Lilly Wood & The Prick, Santogold. Of the two, you may have only heard of the one, but given the choice, I'd choose LWTP anyday. Smooth guitars, a stirring voice and the potential to properly impress a LOT of people, they're definately ones to watch for 2009.
Fortunately, we don't have to choose between them, this cover of Santogold's L.E.S Artistes will actually make your day perfect. Keep an eye out for their debut E.P coming soon.

HELLO AND WELCOME

Greetings, pleasure to meet you and all that.
This here's a small music blog I've started so I can try my damn hardest to highlight good new music and the bands behind it. Everything from blog-electro to shoegaze might be covered, the common feature will simply be good music.

I've got my fingers crossed you'll like what you hear and check back often, that'd be great, but for now I'll leave you with this corker by Chicago-ites, The Cool Kids
